The North side sister
(estranged) of the
infamous Delta Cafe.
Expect similar southern
down-home goodness with
lots of blackened dishes,
greens, barbecue, gumbo,
jamabalaya an alla that
there. This restaurant is
more bar-like and a little
more refined than the
Delta Cafe but you can
expect those good ole
spicy Bloody Marys and
Mint Juleps with infused
liquors.

Mercury Staff Pick

When you survey great American cooking, none is more
rooted in history and tradition than dishes from the
Deep South. Every pot of collard greens, every skillet
of fried chicken is the result of secret family recipes
handed down for generations. Miss Delta, which opened
last year on bustling North Mississippi Avenue's dining
strip, captures the essence of Southern cooking in all
its cast-iron glory. Whether it's perfect black-eyed
pea fritters or spicy jambalaya with hot sausage,
smoked chicken and shrimp, dishes have a calories-be-
damned approach. Portions are so large they have their
own gravitational pull: The thing separating comfort
from extreme discomfort is your own self-control.
That's why there's a treadmill at your gym. Use it.

Grant Butler, The Oregonian

"Miss Delta packs a punch with good old southern charm."
